The Last Hoorah

In our issue 314 of January 2024, Mark Caruana OAM, the President of the NSW Maltese Past Pupils of Don Bosco, announced the dissolution of this organisation that was formed in 1972. It has raised an average of $10,000 annually for the Don Bosco missions.

In his last message, Mark Caruana said that though the association no longer exists, the spirit and charisma of Don Bosco will continue. In fact on the 14th January 2024 members of this association celebrated the annual feast of the Patron Saint with a special presentation of the statute of Don Bosco being donated to the Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Victories at Horsley Park.

A plaque to this effect was affixed to the statue to commemorate this donation. The statue will therefore be permanently on view at this parish.
